The Bryant collects what is needed to run the publication and no more. We do not sell reader data. We do not share reader data with brand partners. We do not run programmatic advertising or third-party retargeting on the site. The processors listed below handle infrastructure on our behalf under standard data agreements.
What we collect
When you read the publication, our hosting and edge providers log standard request metadata: IP address, user agent, page requested, and timestamp. When you subscribe to a newsletter, we collect the email address you provide and the source surface the signup came from. When you become a paying member, our payment processor handles the billing details directly; we receive only the metadata required to provision your access.
How we use it
Logged request metadata is used for security, abuse prevention, and aggregate analytics. Newsletter email addresses are used to send the newsletter you subscribed to and nothing else. We do not enrich reader records with third-party data, and we do not cross-link your reading behaviour with your email.
Third-party processors
The Bryant runs on a small set of named processors, each of which handles a specific function under contract:
Cloudflare handles edge traffic, DDoS protection, and bot mitigation. Vercel hosts the application. Sanity stores editorial content.Beehiiv delivers newsletters and stores subscriber email addresses. Sentry records application errors so we can fix them. Google Analytics 4 aggregates anonymised traffic patterns. Each processor receives only the data needed to provide the service, under their published terms.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from any newsletter at any time using the link in the footer of every email. You can request the data we hold on you, or its deletion, by writing to privacy@thebryantedition.com. We will respond within thirty days.
Cookies
The site uses essential cookies for security and a small number of first-party cookies to remember reading state. We do not place third-party advertising cookies. Where analytics cookies are used, you may decline them via the consent banner on first visit.
Children
The Bryant is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under sixteen.
